The most disturbing implication of Romney’s birther “joke” yesterday is that his campaign appears to have very deliberately thrown over the votes of POC Republicans, the so called “zero percent,” in favor of inciting and mobilizing white racists. Though his support among african-americans was already low enough to disappear into the margin of error of most polls, here he is explicitly stating that he does not care about black people, at the same time extending a hand towards a group you’d have thought were already firmly his. It makes you wonder what sort of information they may have about these voter ID laws and the nationwide legal challenges against them. How many are they projecting will be disenfranchised?
